As we all know, Coronavirus is spreading fast all over the world Grocery Shopping has become a complicated task. Many organizations, including the World Health Organization, have released many articles about how to stay safe from this fast-spreading virus.
As the government has informed us to stay quarantined, we will have to go to the store to buy our essentials within the upcoming days. We hope this article would be helpful for you to stay secure if you are planning to do grocery shopping during this epidemic.
Avoid rush hours
We have a habit of buying home needs when we are getting back home after work. According to the present situation, it’s not wise to visit the store during the evening hours because everyone tends to visit the store at this hour and might expose you to the virus through somebody.
Avoid such rush hours and pick a time which people don’t usually visit the store. Make sure to keep a distance of at least 1M from one to another while shopping and staying in the queue.
Spend less time in the store
Make a list of things that you and your family need. You don’t need to go to the store and think about what you are going to need for the next few days to eat. Think before you visit the store and include them on the list. Avoid all the ‘not so important’ minutes and seconds in the store and walk away with the goods as soon as possible.
Money exchange
There is a higher probability of being exposed to viruses and bacterias when using cash. It’s better to use a Credit/Debit card to make your payments. Make sure to clean your hands with a sanitizer after paying. You can simply clean it up as well if you used a Credit/Debit card.
Avoid Teens and elderly people
The World Health Organization found that there is an attendance of the cases getting severe if you are above 65 years or below 20 years. It’s better to avoid being exposed to the public if you are or any of your loved ones are in this age category.
Dispose bags and packages outside the home
Dispose all the bags, packages, and other disposable materials outside the house. Those packages might have been exposed to the viruses, and it’s better to separate them from the goods and keep them out of reach of human interactions. If there are any reusable packages, you can wash them properly and store them.
Take a wash
Before you meet your loved once at home, it’s better to take a wash and clean the clothes which you wore to the store. At least wash your hands, legs, and face thoroughly before you touch anything else at home.
Store footwear outside the house
Make sure to store the footwear which you used to wear to the store outside the house. Wash thoroughly if you need them inside.
Wash vegetables and fruits before storage
Vegetables and fruits in the market are being exposed to outside for a long time. Sometimes people tend to hold them and put them back on the shelves. Always wash fruits and vegetables well, let them dry for a couple of minutes and store them.
Go Online
Purchasing goods online would be the best option that is available today. If any stores allow you to buy products online, this time would be the best time to order things online. Have a chit-chat with the family and make a list of things that you need for at least next 14 days and place the order.
